Arts & Crafts Activities!
We
will come up with a craft project suited to your party's theme and the age
group present!
Best for ages 5 & up, and groups of no more than 12 kids.
If you have a larger group, I will recommend or come up with a simpler project.
Includes all materials and instructions.
Finished projects make great party favors, too!
Perfect combined with face painting, glitter tattoos, or another similar one-on-one activity!
Robin will teach the kids and a parent (or other adult) how to assemble the craft project.
Then, she will go paint faces (or whatever), and the kids can continue working on the craft project, with a parent to help them, while waiting for their turn to be painted!
Depending on the project, number of kids, and how expensive the materials are,
craft activities generally average $4-$14+ per child.
Give us your budget and we will work with that to come up with the perfect project for your party!
(Pictured above are fancy hats created for a "Fancy Nancy" theme party!)
Possible projects include (but are not limited to):
~ Fancy Party Hats Classic cone-shaped party hats individually made by Robin out of heavy patterned scrapbook paper in colors or designs to match your theme, if desired. Each has a large handmade pom-pom on the top and silky ribbon ties. The kids get to further decorate them with fun trims, stickers, gems, sequins, glitter glue, etc. -$8 each
~ Princess/Prince Crowns made from cardstock, to decorate with stick-on gems, sequins, and glitter glue.
-$5 each
~ Fairy Wings made from heavy cardstock, kids decorate them with markers, glitter glue, sequins, etc. They are wearable when finished.- $8 each
~ Fairy crowns colorful paper crowns decorated with flowers, gems, sequins, glitter glue, and ribbon. - $5 each
~Paper Puppets, many available! Fairies (both male and female), a dragon, a unicorn, a mermaid, and more! Kids color them, cut them out, and put them together with brads, and decorate with glitter glue to make a jointed puppet. Best for kids 7 & up - $4 each
~ Fairy Paper Dolls decorated with sequins, fake flowers, glitter glue and feathers - $6 each
~ Mini Fairy Gardens. Kids design a mini garden on a plastic plate, using colorful homemade gluten free playdough, silk flowers, sparkly stones, and an adorable fairy house made from a recycled plastic bottle! Each includes a couple small paper fairies that they can position wherever they like in their little mini "garden"! - $12 each
(can you tell I really love fairies?)
~ Decorating shields for knights! Shields are made from heavy cardstock, and kids decorate them with markers, glitter glue, and cut out heraldic designs which they can glue on. They are also taught a little about heraldry and the kinds of symbols knights would use on their shields. Shields are fun to decorate and display as decorations, but are not durable enough for any actual "fighting". - $8 each
~ Pirate Treasure Chests These are printed on cardstock and are fun to color, cut out and assemble, and then fill with pirate loot! - $4 each
~ Beaded bracelets/necklaces made from a wide variety of plastic and wood beads, including animal shapes, hearts, stars, glittery beads, and even glow-in-the-dark beads! Necklaces are strung on cording, bracelets are made on specially prepared pipe cleaners. - $5 each child (each child may make up to 1 necklace and 2 bracelets)
~ Dragon masks Made from cardstock, these dragon masks are lots of fun to color and cut out! I also provide glitter glue to add that extra pizazz. We can either add sticks for the kids to hold them in front of their faces, ribbon ties, or a colorful elastic. Your choice. - $4 each
~ Tie-dyed T-shirts This activity is lots of fun for kids age 6 (with help) -106! We recommend the activity be done outside, and a large table, preferably protected with a plastic tablecloth secured with clips or tape, will need to be provided. I will also need to be given the sizes of T-shirts needed, at least 2 weeks in advance. All materials are provided, including protective gloves to keep hands from being dyed. Guests will be taking home the still-wet shirt in a large ziploc bag, along with instructions for letting the dye set overnight and then washing it several times all by itself in the washing machine, to rinse it. We use only high quality dyes that will last for years without fading! - $12 each
~ T-shirt decorating with fabric paint This is a great activity for sleepovers! The shirts will be dry and ready to wear by the next morning! Fabric paint is less messy than liquid fabric dye, easier to do indoors, but still lots of fun to decorate shirts with! We recommend putting a dropcloth of some kind on the floor (maybe an old sheet?) and covering the table with a plastic tablecloth. We will provide instruction, shirts (you must give us the sizes needed at least 2 weeks in advance) and a variety of fabric paints, fabric markers, spray glitter for fabric, etc. - $14 each
~ Up-cycled T-shirts (best for age 10 & up) This is another fun sleepover activity! And the items can be worn immediately, the kids can even stage a "fashion show" as part of the party! I will show the kids several different methods of "upcycling" T-shirts, including cutting a fringe along the bottom, cutting and tying the sides to make a too-large shirt fit better, turning a large shirt into a comfy draw-string skirt, even cutting a T-shirt apart to make other things such as a fun scarf accessory or headband! - $8 each child if kids bring their own shirts (2 shirts per child is best, old, stained, or too-large ones are just fine, in any color or pattern), $15 each child if I provide the T-shirts. Best for smaller groups of no more than 6 kids, and as a stand-alone activity scheduled separately from the face painting time, since this activity requires more hands-on help from Robin.
